Hey everybody! Gold is getting up there! Time to sell! Today gold closed at over $960. That means now is finally the time we've been waiting for to sell our old jewelry and broken stuff and turn it into CASH!
Bring in your gold to Wyatt Austin Jewelers and we'll buy it from you at a very competitive price. Wyatt Austin Jewelers is here to service our customers. We want you to come to us for all you jewelry needs so we will treat you right when we purchase your old jewelry, too. In fact, you can get a better value if you trade in your gold for new jewelry.

Trollbead Trunk Show August 13-15 2009
We're gearing up for our first Trollbead Trunk Show coming up August 13 - 15. The trunk show order of additional Trollbeads has been shipped! It will arrive in plenty of time to get it displayed and ready before August 13. Actually, I'll be ready for the show on the evening of August 12. We're sneaking in a "premier" evening by invitation only for our better customers who can make it. It'll be a small crowd so we'll be able to give everyone the extra time and attention they deserve. We'll also have some special refreshments for that evening only. For the official trunk show, we'll have freshly baked cookies, coffee, and soft drinks for everyone. I think we'll even through in a little chocolate on the table, too.
One of the promotions we'll have is we're giving away a free sterling Trollbead bracelet to the first 25 who walk in the door. We'll have one for their guests, too. I figure, the more the merrier when handing out freebies! Everybody likes a deal. The other promotion is a free $25 Trollbead with the purchase of 4 Trollbeads! I think we'll have lots of people starting out their new bracelets in style. Sounds like fun!!!
When it's all over, I'll post an update. I'm excited to see how it ends up!

Sell your gold for cash!
I've been hearing some interesting stories about what people are being paid for their old gold jewelry that they're selling for cash. It's disheartening what some places are paying. In fact, in some cases they're not paying anything!
Case #1: I read an article in the newspaper. A journalist took her gold to a local place that advertises they pay cash for scrap gold. She got her quotation, but didn't sell. After all, she was doing an article. Then she sent it to a place she found on the internet. A place that promised to pay top dollar. You know what? That place did pay more than she was offered previously, but that's not always the case.
A more recent story I heard was about someone much less fortunate. This person sent her gold to one of those places on the internet, but her response wasn't at all like it was described in the newspaper article. She was sent a payment for a fraction of the actual value she sent. Even after numerous phone calls, she was never compensated for all of what was sent.
Case #2: There are several start-up companies out there who are doing their best to cash in on the "sell your gold for cash" trend. They may do lots of advertising, open store fronts with big neon signs claiming "WE BUY GOLD", or set up at hotels to do gold buying shows on most weekends and do gold buying parties where the attendees can receive gifts as incentives.
Sounds like fun doesn't it. The fun stops when you realize they are offering a fraction of what the gold is actually worth. In the case I'm writing about they are only paying $3 per pennyweight. Let me ask you, do you know what a pennyweight is? Most people don't. I do and that means they are paying less than $2 per gram!
At Wyatt Austin Jewelers we pay about 4x that amount. Whether you bring it in to us or we come to you, it's a much better value. We also know how to turn a gold event into a fundraiser. Call me if you want to know more. 847-985-4046

Wyatt Austin Jewelers is alive and well in Schaumburg!
After 20 years next the JEWEL at the corner of Schaumburg Road and Barrington Road Jeff and I moved Wyatt Austin Jewelers to 1701 E Woodfield Road - Suite 110. We've been open here almost four weeks.
We've completely remodeled the entire west side of the first floor of the eleven story building located on the southeast corner of Woodfield Road and Mall Drive. On the other side of the parking lot is Mario Tricoci. The intersection is the south entrance to Woodfield Mall, where you would enter if you wanted to go to Lord & Taylor or Nordstroms.
The store is really looking good. We've got some more work to do, mainly electrical stuff. Of course, we also have some finishing touches to complete decorating. We have the showroom at the entrance of the store. Just past the showroom and the curved wall that contains the goldsmith shop is the design area. Jeff and Amy have their work stations there where they do their CAD designs with your direction, for your customized hand made jewelry. You'll sit comfortably in a leather loveseat while you watch your jewelry being designed on the monitor at the end of the workstation. Eventually, we'll have the CNC machine that will carve the wax model in the goldsmith shop. You can come back in a day or so to view and approve the model before it is cast in the precious metal of your choice.
When the casting comes in, it's filed and polished and custom fit if necessary. Diamonds or other gemstones are set with meticulous precision. Then the jewelry is photographed and appraised. After that, it's ready to be presented. A beautiful piece of jewelry has been made just the way you designed it!
Stop in or give us a call at 847-985-4046. We'll bake you some cookies to go with your fresh cup of coffee.
